During the constant climbing all over the boat, I found it nearly impossible to gain access to the pilothouse deck from the cockpit. One needed to walk all the way forward around the front of the pilothouse in order to get on top.
As is the case with everything else, I had pretty much trashed the outside of the boat already doint everything else, so.........
I added some side steps to allow one to step from the cockpit coaming right up onto the pilothouse deck
I started with a block of wood which I epoxied, screwed AND fiberglassed right to the side of the pilothouse.

Then it was back to the fairing, sanding, and fairing some more routine.....

I even put some non-skid on the top of each step, although this was before I learned how to do it really well, so it's not great.

Lessons Learned
Epoxy takes a REALLY long time to set up in 35 degree temperatures.
