It just happened that the trailer that the Nimble factory buids/supplies, have DOUBLE bunks on either side of the boat. While the intention is obviously to give added support to the boat on the road, this also makes for some EASY bottom work to be done.
By alternately lowering one set of bunks on each side, the entire bottom can be accessed for bottom work and/or painting. This is very convenient as opposed to jacking up the boat and using blocks.
It would seem to me that this would be a fairly inexpesive addition to many standard trailers for those who do a lot of their own bottom work.

Here are a couple of pictures of bottom work underway with alternating bunks lowered. It was easier working to take the bunk board all the way off of the standoffs to work on the inner sections.
I also propped up the one remaining bunk in each case with 4x4's for security. |
